Acceptance of these terms #

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the pgcraft.app website and the PgCraft desktop application (together, “PgCraft”), provided by GrepForge Solutions Inc. (“GrepForge”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using PgCraft, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use PgCraft.

The software #

PgCraft is a desktop application for working with PostgreSQL databases. During this phase it is offered as a free public beta: free of charge, with no account required. PgCraft is proprietary software — it is not open source, and the license below governs your use.

Beta status — provided “as is” #

PgCraft is beta software. It is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Beta software may contain defects, may change, and may be discontinued. Always keep backups of any database you work with and do not rely on PgCraft as your only safeguard against data loss.

Licence to use #

Subject to these Terms, GrepForge grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use PgCraft on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use. You may not:

• redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense PgCraft;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• remove or alter any proprietary notices; or
• use PgCraft to build or train a competing product.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Acceptable use #

You agree to use PgCraft only for lawful purposes and only with databases and data you are authorised to access. You are responsible for your use of PgCraft and for any data you access through it.

Updates and telemetry #

PgCraft may check for and notify you about updates. PgCraft may also send product telemetry as described in our Privacy Policy; telemetry is opt-out and never includes your credentials, connection details, query text, or database contents.

Intellectual property #

PgCraft, the PgCraft name, and all related logos and content are owned by GrepForge Solutions Inc. and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in our trademarks.

Limitation of liability #

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrepForge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of PgCraft — including, given its beta status, any data loss or corruption. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Termination #

You may stop using PgCraft at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue PgCraft, or update these Terms, as described below. The licence terminates automatically if you breach these Terms.

Governing law #

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.

Changes to these terms #

We may update these Terms as PgCraft evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. Continued use of PgCraft after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
